LinkedIn changes in 2025

LinkedIn isn’t what it was six months ago.

And hitting 400 followers looks different, too. [read on for tips - not fluff]

This week Susan Blain Consulting reached 400 followers on LinkedIn. While once this might’ve been a vanity milestone for any startup, in 2025 it’s something else entirely.

Why?

Because the LinkedIn algorithm has changed. #Recency is out. #Relevancy is in.

Since June, 2025, LinkedIn has:
* Stopped prioritising when a post was published,
* Started showing older content if it matches the follower interests,
* Shifted away from impressions and likes as key indicators, and
* Begun rewarding (prioritising) content that serves the audience and sparks opportunity.

So 400 followers in this context? It means 400 people LinkedIn thinks will find my content relevant. That’s a powerful validation of clarity, consistency, and connection - not clickbait.
